OEV Trip to Brunei Darussalam

Hi all, sorry for the late post....anyway let me tell about my trip.

Day 1: It was my 1st time coming to Brunei, we were welcomed by the Royal Brunei Police at the airport and we were even welcomed by the Pasukan Kadet Polis (their cadets) at the hotel which is the Times Hotel. When we arrived at the hotel,we were assigned buddies,1 polis kadet and 1 npcc cadet. We were accompanied by Supt Rosalind Khoo, Ms Sandy Wong, 2 Teacher officers and 2 Cadet Inspector. But my buddy was not present,so i have to share with another pair.

After we had get to know one another,we are allowed to go to our room to take a rest after a 2-hour flight. But we went for a short briefing to get us prepare for the welcoming dinner that night.Luckyily my roommate is one of us,it is easier for both of us as we come from same country :).We were instructed to wear so called half-u but without beret,we are to wear the tee shirt given by them so we all will look nice. And so we went back to our room to take a rest and get prepared.I went back to my room, unpack my stuffs and i went out to my buddy room to get to know them better. After that i went to get ready for the dinner.

Then dinner was held at Rizqun International Hotel,it was huge and beautiful!!!!It was quite a formal one as their high rank officers are to join us so we have to wait for them then we can start eating :( After we have eaten, enjoying the music performed by the Royal Brunei Police i was surprised wat happend next. They had dance the dance called the poco-poco where all of the officers danced like normal people! Even Commandant ma'am dance along with them, very supporting i must say.I'm sure she enjoyed the dance. After the dinner,we went back to the hotel room to SLEEP!!!!yay!!!HAHA.BUT!!! we have to do a reflection before we sleep because we need to pass up by the next morning by breakfast.

Day 2: We visited Chung Hwa Middle School. They put up a grand performance for us.I can see they put alot of effort welcoming us.We also visited their Traffic Police Unit. They have alot of big motobikes one of them is used for escorts. The fun part was they actually demonstrated a real road block just outside the station.A few unlucky drivers got pulled out for minor traffic offences, suay for them.

At the later part of the day,we went on a hike at the Tasek Lama Recreational Park. Then park is similiar to our Bukit Timah Hill.About 40 mins later we reached our destination. And there were food prepared for us.Have i told u that everywhere we go,there is sure food waiting for us at the end of the visit.I think that was our 5th meal of the day!!We still have dinner later at the hotel. The fun part about this visit is marching down the hill with their cadets. Why? Is just fun, saying their timing, cheering and singing chan mali chan with a Chung Middle School.(photo below was taken at the school)

Day 3: We visited their Marine Police in the morning. They brought us to the pelumbong island for a barbeque and water activities.I got a chance to ride their Police jetski which i had never ride before. It was fun over there. And once again after we had eaten, the MC invited all of us to dance their poco-poco dance. But this time round everyone dance along, including myself. It was not a difficult dance,i enjoyed my visit there. In the afternoon,we visited their Police Training
Centre which is like our HTA. We were hosted by their commandant of training. The police trainess showed us their drill skills and their PT exercises. Then they also demonstrated their police reserve unit in handling riots.A very entertaining performance.I even shot one of their guns which is used for grenade launching.

The next morning was when we say goodbyes to our brunei cadets and teacher. The girls were crying and hugging each other. The boys also hugged their buddies but most of them did not cry. After speech given by their leader and our cadet, the perform for us a song.they are trying to highligh this sentence for us(apapun yang terjadi,ku kan selalu ada untuk mu....jangan lah kau bersedih cause everythings gonna be OK....) After that we went for a our arranged by the tour agent there.we visited the musesum, one of their water village and the oil & gas development centre. It took a 2-hour bus trip but its not worth the trip. Then we visited the Emipire Hotel,a 6-star hotel.Very majestic and grand.

The last day,did last minute shopping at the shopping centre.Went of to do friday prayers at masjid Omar Ali Saifuddin.Very impressive. Then shop for a few more minutes, then off to the airport. Some of the bruneian cadet were even at the airport to say their last goodbye.of course there were shedding of tears and hugging.A very memorable trip.Thank you teachers for giving me this chance.
